Research interests: Travel behaviour analysis, transportation planning, and modelling of things like activity-based travel demand, integrated land-use and transportation, and goods movement.
Dr Taha Hossein Rashidi is a senior lecturer in Transport Engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Australia.
Dr Hossein Rashidi previously collaborated with the University of Toronto as a postdoctoral research associate. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from Sharif University of Technology, Iran; and a PhD from the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA.
A member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Traveller Behavior and Values, Dr Hossein Rashidi is also affiliated with the Institute for Choice at the University of South Australia.
In 2008, he was bestowed the Fred Burggraf Award from the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies in 2008 and was also awarded the Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellow the same year. Dr Hossein Rashidi received the American Society of Civil Engineers Freeman Fellowship in 2009.
In 2012, Dr Hossein Rashidi was recognised by the National Science and Engineering Research Council in Canada, with the NSERC PDF Award and the Industrial RAND Fellowship.
In 2014, Dr Hossein Rashidi was awarded the Early Career Research Grant from the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.
